Frank Lemus

Pros:
Im very impressed with the ammount of work Frank is able to showcase on his website. I really enjoy how hes laid out his images in a really simple easy to dogest way. I don’t mind having a simple homepage that requires clicking away to get to the content, because he has used a really great image of himself and his work to draw me in. His site is easy to navigate and the tabs are clear and to the point. He has added captions under each of his works with information about the piece, I wish I had figured out how to do that myself. It makes for a really informative site. Not only can I view his works in one big place, I can easly see the size and scope of what hes working on and the progression of his work. The neutral background makes for easy viewing, and doesnt distort the colors of his work. His contact form was easy to find and seemed to work just fine, and hes cut down on wasted sapce without artowrk in it.
Cons:
I don’t really have any cons regarding Franks site, beyond what we spoke about in our class critique. I feel any changes he might make to his site would be for personal or aesthetic reasons, not because there are probelms with the overall functionality of his site. I don’t think he needs to change the site beyond that. He could break his work into smaller subcategories that require another click if he wanted to, but I like being able to scroll though the bulk of his work on one page.
Really good website overall and I’ve enjoyed seeging his work over the last few months.

Pros:
Her work is easy to find and easy to look at. There are colorful text descritpions under each of the peices that add to the story of the iamges. It helps me see that these aren’t just doodles, but fully fleshed out idaes that might potentially be worked on in the future as well. You aren’t just drawing the characters, you’re showing me that there are ideas beyond the current works that I could build on with you if hired on. You’ve explained why the art was created and I can see the entire image.
Cons:
The header on the front page might be a little too large for my liking, but I believe it is her own artowrk so at least I’m still seeing some of he work straight away on the home page. I would also change the discriptors under a few of the imges. I wouldn’t bother putting that the charachters are for a hypothetical childrens book/cartoon, I might just state that they are concept or idea sketches for said work. I feel that everything we are doing is for potential works, so it feels a little like youre shooting youself in the foot, or discrediting the work. No one needs to know that it’s hypothetical, the idea is there and you’re able to work from that starting point.
Easy to navigate and clear. I would like to see more work from you though.

Pros:
Contact information is right on the front page, so I didn’t have to go serching around for how to reach out to the artist. The fact that the thumbnail images have a little animation makes the fun and quirky, and seeing movement for the storyboard and animaiton tabs in the thumb nail is actually really cool. There are lots of works to look at, so I’m not left wondering what your style is and I have a nice big chunk of work to choose from. I really like being able to click on an image thumbnail and pulling up a static image, then the feature that allows me to then quick scroll though the work without having to reselect a thumbnail from the main page. Adding your resume as an easy to read image on a sperate page is also very interesting, easily knowing which languages I am able to contqact the artist in can be helpful in a getting to know you/starting up a conversation about working with you situation. All of your social links work! I WISH I COULD GET MINE TO LINK TO MY SOCIALS TOO!!
Cons:
I don’t have many cons about this site. The font choice for the links isn’t really my style, and I don’t think it really meshes with the style of the artowrk, but they are easy ro read and they work just fine. I might also reduce the size of the links so that I can get down to the artworks faster.

Pros:
I like seeing images of you in your about me page!! I think it’s great when I can put a face to a name, and it adds an element of personality to your page. I was able to find the scroll through for your red hood concept art, and I liked seeing the progression of the images. Having a video showcase your 2d animation, rather than stills is a fun touch as well, I am able to see it animated, not just imagees on a page, and the whole Idea is animation.
Cons:
There is a bit of dead space on the homepage before you get down to the bulk of the artowrk, so I might do away with that. I don’t know if it is an issue with how im viewing your site (chrome/safari etc) but I am having some trouble viewing your character concept designs. I eventually managed to scroll though them, but I’m not able to view them on the same page like I am able to with your other work. So I don’t know if it’s just me, but I’d like to see more work from you. (meaning there might be more work and I just can’t see it)
